How do you make a 1990 ford thunderbird faster?

I have a 1990 ford thunderbird base model (without super charger) that has a great engine in it. But it only goes has 80 mph on the dash. The odometer was replaced at 57,000 miles and now has 36,000 miles on it, and it is a relatively will maintained machine. I want to make it at least as fast as the average car. Can anyone help? How do you make a 1990 ford thunderbird faster? That car will do the speed limit all day long. If not you need repairs. How do you make a 1990 ford thunderbird faster?
Came with three different engines - The 3.8 base V-6, the 5.0 V-8, then the supercharged 3.8 V-6 in the Super-Bird. Sounds like you have the base 3.8 V-6, so a swap to a 5.0 V-8 is what you need. All the parts will be factory, as the 5.0 was available in that body, %26amp; a 5.0 can give you 250 hp to 750 hp, depending on how you build it.How do you make a 1990 ford thunderbird faster?Add the supercharger of courseHow do you make a 1990 ford thunderbird faster?
