Follow these steps:
1). Crank the car (start the ignition).
2). Let it run for about 5 minutes with the lights on.
3). Then use a rubber insulated socket ratchet with a socket to loosen the (hot) or positive battery terminal (+).
4). Now, take the terminal off, if it dies shortly afterwards then you know it is the alternator if it takes a few minutes then it is your battery.
As for your HVAC follow these steps:
1). Check your fuse in the fuse panel for it (it should say HVAC, AC, or Compressor for the fuse).
See if the fuse is blown.
2). If no luck, then try this. Go to the battery's hot side (positive) (+) and follow the wire until you meet up with a black plastic or metal box with a removable cover!
3). Look for the following fuses and square (D) relays: (It should say HVAC, AC, or Compressor).
See if that fuse is blown, if not then you have a bad relay, sometimes there is no fuse in that box for
HVAC only a relay. What is the best way to fix an electrical problem in a 1993 ford escort?Your welcome, if you have any further problems let me know!
