it all depends on who builds it . . its all in the parts you put in it. i have seen some cars run in the 9's with c 4... and MPH in the 140's they are good transmissions .

How fast can you go with a Ford c4 transmission?up 2 1000 horsesHow fast can you go with a Ford c4 transmission? If your looking for high top end speed you need to dump that high ratio rear end and put in something with a low ratio. something in a 2.75 would give you some great top end speed. Not that you would ever be able to use it. but you would have great top speed. somewhere around 150 to 165 I would think. You off the line would suck, and the car would seem very sluggish until it got up to higher speeds. but that the trade off with top end speed. However at 65 MPH you would have very good gas mileage. would probably add 3 or 4 miles to the gallon as the motor would only be turning around 1200 to 1300 RPM.How fast can you go with a Ford c4 transmission?I had a 5.0 with the C4 but i ran alot of different gears in the rear end with 4.56s I could lift the front tires of the ground about 2 feet with 3.77 It woud run about 120 in the 1/4 mile and was topped out then with 3.08s it would do about 140 top speed this car had a brand new motor that was built real well but close to stock. pistins 0.30 over mild cam 4 barrel holley nothing 2 fancy just well builtHow fast can you go with a Ford c4 transmission?
This is just me personally. I found that when i had my 65 Comet GT the the 350 horse 351 W, i had with the C4 auto liked the 3.23 gear set better. I tried the 2.76 gear set and it pulled my motor out of it's power band. At 60 mph it would be right at 1600 rpm. The power band for this engine started at 2000rpm. It caused the motor to lug to much. The 3.23 at 60mph was right in my power band at 2,100 rpm. Top end didn't suffer either. It was clocked at 120mph in a quarter mile and was still pulling when i lifted off the gas. It ran low 13's and prob' could have done better it it had less tire spin.
