What type of Freon does a 1995 Ford Explorer use, and where is the valve to refill it located?

I have a 1995 Ford Explorer. I keep getting two different answers from the web. Some say it uses R12, which they don't sell anymore, others say it uses R134a which you can buy and recharge yourself. If it's R134a, I would like to know where the spot is to refill it if anyone knows, but I really just need to know which type of Freon it uses. What type of Freon does a 1995 Ford Explorer use, and where is the valve to refill it located? It uses 134A and the valves have round plastic caps on them and they are usually located on the aluminum discharge and suction lines coming out of and into the compressor. What type of Freon does a 1995 Ford Explorer use, and where is the valve to refill it located? The mid 1992 and newer Ford Explorers use the R134a freon refrigerant. Could find no information concerning the re-fill valve. Sorry! What type of Freon does a 1995 Ford Explorer use, and where is the valve to refill it located? After 1990 ferderal law imposed that all vehicles now be 134 a and you have to look for the low side to add freon. Without being able to point it out to you, you will not know. There are two lines, a high side and a low side, you would have to decipher which one it is.
