What happened to all that legendary Ford horsepower and the new FR9 engine?

A few months ago the new FR9 engine was supposed to be Ford's big thing. I don't think Kenseth finishing 10th is what they were looking for.What happened to all that legendary Ford horsepower and the new FR9 engine?Well the FR9 doesn't really have a power advantage, it just feels like it. It just has better cooling so they can run mroe tape on the grille which means more front downforce and the engine's center of gravity is lower. NASCAR dynoed all of the engines and they were all close. Ford (well Roush) was dominating, but I think most of the other teams have just simply caught up.What happened to all that legendary Ford horsepower and the new FR9 engine?
Just wait till summer's done. As someone on another site said, they have the engine, now they just need to work on putting the power down in the hot temperatures.What happened to all that legendary Ford horsepower and the new FR9 engine?We don't know..yet. The Roush cars had a bad day (10th, 12th, 20th, and 36th) which is unusual for them at Michigan. After terrible seasons in 2009 and 2010, the Fords have won six races this year with only six cars that could win races so far in 2011. Today was not their finest hour. After starting 1st and 2nd, their cars got worse instead of better like Johnson and Kyle Busch did. Kenseth's tires gave out and he did not come in before the green-white-checkered, and Biffle who was 7th after 187 laps, fell back through the field to 20th. They will Tweak on it until its fixed....
Kenseth ran great all day. The finish was not indicitive of his day. The new Ford engine is not so much about the power. It can run hotter longer and thus they can run more tape on the front. If you look at where Roush is now vs 1-2 years ago, you'll see the new engine has certainly helped.
