Does the Dell Inspiron 531s come with a floppy disk drive?

I just bought a Dell Inspiron 531s desktop but it doesn't seem to have a floppy disk drive on it. Just a place for CD's. Does anyone else own this computer and if so, where is the floppy drive?Does the Dell Inspiron 531s come with a floppy disk drive? You will NOT find a built-in Floppy Disk Drive on any newly manufactured Desktop PC or Notebook PC bec they are obsolete and the USB thumb drive has long since replaced the 3 1/2" floppy disk. If you don't like the USB thumb drive then the next best thing besides the $20 external floppy drive with USB cable mentioned above is to purchase and use CD-RW disks (note these are not the typical CDRs) bec these can both read %26amp; write several times just like the older obsolete floppy drives.

Hope the Above Info Helps!Does the Dell Inspiron 531s come with a floppy disk drive? No, it doesn't come with a floppy disc drive.

Your computer is one of Dell's slinkier models, compact, slim, but nice too with many features.

If you need a floppy disc drive, you can buy a USB external floppy disc drive for under $20.00. This way you simply plug your floppy disc drive into any of your USB ports and you can use your floppy discs.

I grabbed a USB external floppy disc model and picture for you here: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/鈥?/a>

Not many people today use floppy discs as we have USB flash drives and other memory card type readers.

Good Luck!
