Need more room in Dell Inspiron 530. Can I do a case transplant or will i need a new mb?

I am aware that Dell uses mostly proprietary parts, just was wondering if anyone had experience with this.Need more room in Dell Inspiron 530. Can I do a case transplant or will i need a new mb?i know it's a lot older than your computer,but I was able to swap the mobo from my dimension 2400 into a clio-x case I bought on newegg. it fit fine,but I needed to move over the screws that held the heatsink clips on.hope that helps.
