Why is the screen dark on my dell inspiron b120 laptop?

You can just barely see the screen on my dell laptop inspiron b120.I managed to hook it up to a monitor so i can atleast some what use it.Does anyone know how i can fix this or whats wrong with it?Why is the screen dark on my dell inspiron b120 laptop?Tanner has it right.



Backlights do fail occasionally, and when they do it is covered under warranty. Like he said, pressing down firmly on the bezel above the keyboard but below the LCD might reconnect the power inverter and fix the issue, but you don't want to press too hard.



If it is out of warranty, then you can pay to have someone replace the Inverter first, as the inverter is cheap and usually the cause of this problem.Why is the screen dark on my dell inspiron b120 laptop?Your backlight in your screen has gone out. You will need to send it to dell to get it fixed.



The only solutions I have seen sometimes work is to open and close the screen several times. It might jiggle something around.



Or, tap around the top and bottom edges of the laptop screen. It might move something around as well.
