Is it possible to charge an Apple Macbook with a Dell Inspiron charger cord?

I left the half of an Apple charging cord at someone's house, and need to charge a Macbook. I disconnected the pre-adapter section of a Dell Inspiron charge cord and plugged it into the Mac adapter. After letting it charge for 20 or so minutes, the adapter got extremely hot. I checked and saw the Inspiron cord produces 7 amps at 125 volts, and the adapter accepts input normally of 1 amp at 100-240 volts. Is this still a viable option? Is it possible to charge an Apple Macbook with a Dell Inspiron charger cord?Nope. Their chargers are totally different. Don't attempt to do it again as it would cause a problem later on with your Macbook's battery life.Is it possible to charge an Apple Macbook with a Dell Inspiron charger cord?Im assuming your are talking to the wire that plugs to the wall outlet right? if it plugs to your white brick it makes no difference, it just looks ugly being that the mac one its white.
