What is wrong with a Ford Focus if you have to almost floor it to get it going?

My friend has a Ford Focus, its had some damage to the drivers front food and windshield replaced. When it gets cold, around 30 degrees, you have to almost floor it to get it going. Can you tell me what might be causing this? After driving a few mins on highway it runs normal again. Does it just need warmed up or maybe something to do with the battery, if maybe the battery is on that side that got hit? What is wrong with a Ford Focus if you have to almost floor it to get it going?it may have something to do with the battery, but most likely the poblem is that the engine isnt warmed up, when startin the car at that temperture you need to wait at least five minutes with the engine running and After you do that it should run normaly. What is wrong with a Ford Focus if you have to almost floor it to get it going? My Mustang GT won't move well in freezing weather unless I warm up the engine first (and it's an 8 cylinder car, and had a lot of power and goes quite fast). And if I'm not mistaken, Focuses are 4 cylinders, which means less engine power. My old Explorer wouldn't bugdge unless it had been running for a good 15 minutes. Warm the engine. Run outside, turn it on, leave it for about 10 minutes, then start driving. Driving on a cold engine is really bad for it. It needs time to get going.

If you slept all night out in a tent in sub-freezing temperatures, and someone picked you up in the morning and threw you in the middle of a marathon, it would take you a moment to get moving too. What is wrong with a Ford Focus if you have to almost floor it to get it going? It could be a vacuum leak, a malfunctioning EGR system, or a malfunctioning carbon canister purge valve.
