How is it that my Ford is running so good?

I have a 1990 Ford Escort Lx with a 1.9L engine. It has only 74000 miles on it and the car is blue with minimal rust on the sides. It has no problems just that it squeaks in the belt at times. Just wondering Why is it running so good at average 40 mpg?How is it that my Ford is running so good?Like the first answer said, your car has obviously been well maintained. Any car foreign or domestic can run well past the 200,000 mile mark with proper preventative maintenance. How is it that my Ford is running so good?
It has most likely been taken care of properly throughout its life, ie; fresh oil and filter every 3k mile, other fluids flushed and replaced regularly, not beat on or over driven throughout the years. My '97 F-150 has 250,000 miles on it and I have NEVER had any issue with it just because I have done those few things. How is it that my Ford is running so good?this is what a car is designed for.for every 20 people with cars like yours, there is 1 person that abused their pos and now its broke and they do 85% of the complaining.you may just get lucky in life and buy a lemon, but usually a used lemon is a squeazed abused lemon. How is it that my Ford is running so good?
It's running so well because it's actually a decent car. People just think Ford makes unreliable cars, but it's not true. How is it that my Ford is running so good?If it is a manual transmission, that is the rated MPG for this car for highway driving. Actually about 39 MPG.
