How much does a used 3 to 4 yr old Dell Laptop go for?

My friend has a Dell Inspiron 1150 that she wants to get rid of. I would like to buy it, but she doesn't know how much she wants. She wants me to make an offer. It's in good condition from what I can tell. We own 3 Dell Notebook PCs and oldest is Dell Latitude D800. I see many mainstream Dell Latitude D600's being sold on CL for $275 or so but a Dell Inspirion 1150 maybe $150 or less.



If I were in your shoes, Dell is good and I strongly recommend but personally I would only pay $100 cash bec the Dell Inspirion 1150 you are buying is obsolete and might later not meet your expectations whereas you could get a better investment by buying on a newer Dell Notebook PC from Dell Outlet that would most likely last longer down the road...

Personally, you would likely be better off taking the $100-$200 you would likely spend and invest that in a new laptop that will come with a warranty. Even a cheap $500 laptop or netbook will likely be leaps and bounds faster than a 4 year old computer.
