I have a dell desktop computer and need to reinstall windows xp?

I want to start from scratch deleting everything having the computer the way I got it. I can do it with my toshiba, but for some reason it is far more difficult with a dell, and the book don't tell me how. Can someone help me. 1. Turn your computer on and as it runs the bios scan, start pressing Ctrl, F11 while the Blue bar comes up on the top of the screen. You should get another menu. If you missed it, wait until Windows finishes loading and then restart your computer. Once you get to the other menu, choose Restore, Confirm, Yes, Next, OK. Follow any remaining instructions. You'll have to run Windows Update, and Live Update for your virus protection because both will be outdated. Your computer will now be like it came from the factory. Hi. Dell has a hidden partition which it uses for restoring defaults, etc. A normal format may mess you up. I agree with the answers that said use the Dell CDs.I have a dell desktop computer and need to reinstall windows xp?pop in your windows disk. shut down your computer and restart hitting F8. select boot from disk and boot from your windows disk. from there you can format your C drive, then reinstall windows from the disk.

You should have received several CD's from Dell, one of which is the Operating System CD. Put that Cd into your drive, reboot your computer and follow the on screen instructions
New computers come with a set of cd's that can put you r computer back in order..they are labeled and numbered. just follow the onscreen options. Luck!I have a dell desktop computer and need to reinstall windows xp?
If the Dell came with a "Product Recovery Disk" this will wipe it clean. This is all you need. If you don't have this disk, you might be able to contact Microsoft to at least get you a fresh copy of windows.

unplug your printer if you have one.reboot computer,

take left hand and put it on control ..then as the dell logo comes up hit F11 three times.you should be at restore..if not try it again.

restore-confirm-finish-yes

then the rest is setting up your computer.just follow instructions.
